Yana

I went to Yana last week. Yana is a place which has special fish trap and we can have fresh river fishes at there. Especially we go there to have a sweet fish(Ayu/鮎).

The fish trap made of bamboo. People dam up the half of river with the trap and catch the fishes using the natural river flow.
 
The season is from July till end of September.

先日、揖斐川にあるやなへ行ってきた。
子供の頃に行っていた長良川の上流にあるやなは大雨で流されてしまってもうなくなってしまったらしい。
でも、あのやながある景色でどうしても鮎が食べたくなって連れて行ってもらった。

子供たちは魚がかからないのでサンダルを投げてサンダル漁をしていた:)

Grilled Sweet fish/ 鮎の塩焼き

We can have different cooking way of sweet fish at there. Grilled, Stewed, Tempura, Sashimi, Fried and rizotto. but I think grilled sweet fish is the best dish!!

鮎はやっぱり塩焼きが一番おいしいとおもう。

人生で一番おいしかった鮎は

７歳ぐらいの時に静岡の安倍川河川敷で炭火で焼いた天然物の鮎。

私の家族があまりにも鮎をおいしいがっておかわりしていたので

気を良くした店主が売り物じゃない１匹だけあった天然鮎の串をプレゼントしてくれた。

今でもその味を覚えているなんてよっぽどおいしかったんだろうなぁ。

UNOBENTO view from Japan 3/ 流しそうめん 家庭ver.

My friend invited me for homestyle running Soumen party.

(What is Soumen? here)

It's good chopsticks training for kids :) Especially the running tomato was difficult with chopsticks.

友達が流しそうめんホームパーティーに招待してくれた。

私はこの家庭用流しそうめん器は人生初だったけど、なかなかおもしろかった。

友達がトマトを流すとおもしろいよとアドバイスをしてくれたので

早速何個か流してみると夜店のスーパーボールを思い出した。

子供たちもなんとかお箸でそうめんを取ろうと一生懸命でした。

日本にはたくさんのその季節だけの道具があるんだなぁ。  

UNOBENTO view from Japan 2/ 流しそうめん

I saw the view in Nagahama, Shiga.
They were having Soumen which one of thin noodle at Temple. I think it was a party for kids.

We called the eating way "Nagashi Soumen". the meaning is running Soumen noodle.

A person let the noodle with water run to the upper reaches of a half tube.

People catch it from the half tube and eat it with sauce.

The dish is a summer funny dish.

It's a wisdom to feel fresh and cool in the humid and hot Japanese summer.  

滋賀県、長浜でおそらく町内会のイベントでやっている流しそうめん大会を見かけた。

お堂にはたくさんの子供たち、みんな楽しそうにそうめんを捕まえていた。

私は子供の頃にこんな大々的な流しそうめんをしたことはないけど

素敵な思い出になるだろうなぁと見ているこちらもうれしくなった。

お寺にこうやってたくさんの人が集まるというのもとても素敵だなぁ。
